I have been a trusted advisor and change agent for many people over the years. Problems that I have assisted with include a wide range of issues in both personal and professional settings. My online and telephone coaching sessions have proven quite beneficial, and I am now once again beginning to entertain face-to-face meetings subject to ongoing COVID safety protocols.
My role as your mentor is to assist you in your development, and I will strategize with you to set up appropriate goals. The typical approach is to:
- Define the issues you wish to address.
- Evaluate your current competencies and skill set as pertains to your defined issues.
- Set the goals to overcome any problems or strengthen current competencies.
- Monitor your progress and compliance to meeting interim or long-term goals. Some people follow-up daily, weekly, or monthly. The frequency at which we follow-up is your decision, but I find that long intervals between contact are counter-productive.
As your coach and mentor, I will hold you accountable every step of the way. Setting goals without accountability is useless and will not help you. Rest assured that accountability has consequences. The nature of those consequences is totally up to you. Do as you are told and meet your goals to receive one type of consequence. Fail, and you will receive something different. I am perfectly comfortable and capable of imposing any type of consequence you deserve.
